When Doodles Billiards first opened in 2003, Clayton Anderson and Shawn Chapell were chasing a dream with little more than determination in their pockets. So broke they couldn’t even put money in the cash register, they had to borrow just enough to keep it stocked for the day. After that first long, exciting day, they realized they had made one small oversight—they were out of ranch dressing. With no budget to buy more, they got creative and made a batch using whatever ingredients they could find in the store.
What started as a necessity quickly became a hit. Customers raved about the homemade ranch, praising its flavor. With so many compliments, Clayton and Shawn thought, “Why not keep making it?” And so, what began as a quick fix became a signature recipe, adding a unique touch to the Doodles experience from day one.
